Only one will rise above all to win the heart of a nation as the new shogun...The others will die by his sword.
Still amazing after 9 years since it was released. This game marks the start of the total war series with great graphics, great authentic Japanese music theme and balanced details. Some call it the best total series and even spent 1800hours playing it. To be honest you will forget about the age of this game when you are presented with these spectacular cutscenes of the past.
There are things to be learnt but the good thing is the existence of “advisors” who will help you to learn the game. There will also be mini missions that guide you along the way. You can expect to manage a lot of things like training powerful armies, upgrading their tech tree and building up your family clan. This is separate to battles that occur in real time. You will also not just be battling on land because there are also sea battles that are even more tactical.
You will see why it is the best strategy game when you command troops and move them around the map/terrains to win the skirmishes outnumbered. Like in a real war, it feels realistics that you can even let out a rallying cry to get advantages over the enemy as you boost morale. This game also features a wide range of unit variety and mechanics.
